Last night, four local entrepreneurs took the stage at M State, sharing their dreams with a packed audience during the Project 412 Pitch Event. Modeled after the popular TV show “Shark Tank,” the event featured Lillie’s Lollipops, Cubed Therapy, Getaway Kimonos, and Event Conex—each business showcasing unique and innovative ideas.
The excitement was palpable as the audience struggled to choose a favorite for the coveted Audience Award. Ultimately, Jon Melgard’s Event Conex took home that honor. The grand prize winner was Lillie’s Lollipops, securing not only a cash prize but also a spot in a major marketing company’s Fall Cohort, a package valued at over $3,000.
Barb Owen-Boerger’s Getaway Kimonos, designed to repel mosquitoes and other pests, earned second place and a cash prize, while Connor Camrud’s Cubed Therapy, featuring a prototype device aimed at improving physical therapy, especially for shoulder rehabilitation, also impressed the crowd.
These entrepreneurs may have been competing, but they walked away as winners in their own right. Their journeys, filled with passion and the dreamer’s spirit, are just beginning.
Throughout the week, we’ll be diving deeper into each of these inspiring stories on our website and the Lakes Area Radio App. Today, we’ll start with Barb Owen-Boerger’s Getaway Kimonos. Tune in daily to discover
