Authorities have provided an update on the boating incident that occurred on Friday evening, August 9th, on Deer Lake, north of Battle Lake. At approximately 9:41 PM, the Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a submerged boat. Four juveniles were found in the water, but thanks to a quick-thinking bystander, all were rescued and brought to shore.
Three of the juveniles were uninjured, while one was transported to Lake Region Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The investigation into the cause of the accident is still ongoing. Authorities have not released further details at this time, but they continue to emphasize that there is no immediate threat to public safety.
