Early this Sunday morning, Moorhead police reported a fatal stabbing incident. Shortly after midnight, officers responded to a call about a male who had been stabbed in the chest. The incident occurred in the 1000 block of Third Avenue North.
Upon arrival, officers found a single male victim with a stab wound from a sharp instrument. The victim was quickly transported to Sanford Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. Authorities are withholding the victim’s identity until the family has been notified.
A person of interest has been detained, and police confirm that there is no ongoing threat to the public, as the victim and suspect were known to each other.
