Roger Jerome Jackson, 50, of Duluth, has been sentenced in Becker County District Court for gross misdemeanor assault on a peace officer. The incident occurred on June 6 when Jackson, who had two outstanding warrants, was arrested during a welfare check. At the hospital, Jackson attempted to urinate on the floor, kicked at officers, and bit one officer, leaving a visible mark. Jackson was sentenced to 364 days in jail, with 309 days stayed for two years, and was fined $400 plus $160 in court fees. He must also complete a comprehensive assessment and follow all recommendations.
