Starting the week of August 12th, Becker County will begin a major reconstruction project on Highway 34, stretching from County Highway 21 in Richwood to 300th Street. This project involves a complete overhaul, including wider shoulders, flatter slopes, culvert replacements, and the first layer of bituminous surfacing. The work is set to be finished by this fall, with the final layer of pavement to be applied in a separate project in 2025.
Please note, the roadway will be closed to through traffic during construction. The designated detour will route traffic via County Highways 34 and 21 through White Earth. Local residents within the construction zone should check the Becker County website for updates.
West Lake Dr from Lake Ave to Washington Ave/North Shore Drive round-a-bout will be closed from 4pm on Friday August 9th to 1am on Saturday, August 10th for the DL Fire Dept Street Dance
