Lake Region Electric Cooperative Awards More Than $19,000 to Local Organizations

PELICAN RAPIDS (KDLM) – Lake Region Electric Cooperative has awarded more than $19,000 in funding to Local Organizations

$19,400 was given to 14 local organizations and programs across the LREC service area including Camp Joy, Henning Fire Department, Welcome Place and Quilts of Valor.

The funds were given as part of Operation Round Up, a voluntary charitable fundraising program through LREC. The trust fund is overseen by a volunteer, nine-member board of trustees, who are selected to serve by LREC’s board of directors.

Crew members from LREC recently assisted Inspiration Point, an Operation Round Up recipient, with the installation of their new zip line. LREC erected two utility poles for the camp and assisted in the initial zip line creation process.

If you have a community project that needs funding, you’re encouraged to complete the online Operation Round Up Request for Funding form found on the LREC website. Applications for funding will be accepted until June 15, 2021.
