Jan 11, 2021 | 11:28 AM

DETROIT LAKES (KDLM) – For 25 years, Detroit Lakes residents have jumped into the frigid waters of Detroit Lake to raise money for the Boys and Girls Club of Detroit Lakes with the annual Polar Plunge. But things could look a little different this year.

“There is uncertainty over an actual Polar Plunge,” says BGCDL Director Pat Peterman. “We’ve already lost the Big Buck Bash in January. We’re focused on sales of our raffle this year.”

There are 1,500 Polar Fest Plunge raffle tickets available to purchase, with all proceeds benefiting the Boys and Girls Club. Some prizes include a 75″ Samsung Crystal UHD Smart TV, a PowerHouse Inverter Generator, $1,000 off any in-stock Sunnyside Amish Outdoor Furniture from the Boys and Girls Club Thrift Store, free pizzas from Papa Murphy’s, gift cards from Central Market, Price’s Fine Jewelry and Cenex Convinience Store, and cash.

Tickets are $10 and are available to purchase at the Boys and Girls Club of Detroit Lakes and the customer service counter at Central Market.

The Boys & Girls Club at Detroit Lakes has 1500 Polar Fest Plunge raffle tickets available now. Over $5500 in prizes. $10 a ticket. Available at the Thrift store and at Central Market customer service. I also have them with me at all times and at the club. With the loss of one event already (Big Buck Bash in January) and uncertainty of an actual polar plunge, we are focused on sales of our raffle. If interested in purchasing or selling on behalf of the club let me know. I can also do Venmo if you PM me. Thanks in advance for all the awesome support towards our mission!!
