Detroit Lakes Dollars for Scholars Awards Record $275,000 in Scholarships

DETROIT LAKES (KDLM) – More than $275,000 was awarded to Detroit Lakes High School Seniors this year at a private Dollars for Scholars ceremony, Monday.

Winning Detroit Lakes High School seniors and their immediate families participated in a private event where the students received their scholarship award for their coming college experience.

This year, Detroit Lakes Dollars for Scholars awarded a total of of over $275,000 to DLHS seniors – a record amount. “This past year has been tough on everyone – most particularly our high school seniors. The support of them via our community is just remarkable, and for us to be able to award a record amount of money in the year of a pandemic is astonishing. We’re incredibly fortunate to live in a very special place; a place where our DHLS scholarship winners should be proud to always call ‘home’,” said Mark Hagen of Detroit Lakes Dollars for Scholars.
