A Rochester woman was scammed out of $20,000 in June while trying to fix her Facebook account. According to police, the woman found a phone number on Google that claimed to be Facebook’s helpdesk. The scammer, posing as a Facebook representative, said they needed to check her apps for suspicious activity. During this process, they transferred $20,000 out of her bank account.
