Congresswoman Angie Craig to Introduce Bill to Combat Social Media Drug Trafficking

Jul 3, 2024 | 6:05 AM

Congresswoman Angie Craig is set to introduce a new bill in the U.S. House aimed at preventing drug trafficking on social media platforms. This follows a similar initiative by Senator Amy Klobuchar, who introduced the bill in the U.S. Senate last year.

Craig and Klobuchar will join Bridgette Norring of Hastings today to discuss the urgent need for this legislation. Norring’s son, 19-year-old Devin, tragically died in April 2020 after purchasing a counterfeit pill on Snapchat that he believed to be Percocet but was laced with fentanyl.

This proposed bill aims to implement stricter regulations on social media platforms to prevent the sale and distribution of illegal drugs, safeguarding users from counterfeit and dangerous substance.
