Fresh Start Produce Recalls Cucumbers in 14 States Over Salmonella Concerns

Fresh Start Produce Sales Inc. of Delray, Florida, has issued a recall for whole cucumbers shipped between May 17th and May 21st, 2024, due to potential Salmonella contamination. The cucumbers, which are dark green and approximately 1.5 to 2 inches in diameter and 5 to 9 inches long, were sent to various retail distribution centers, wholesalers, and food service distributors across 14 states, including Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, North Carolina, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia. The recall follows a positive Salmonella test by the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture. Consumers should discard or return the cucumbers to the place of purchase.
