The Otter Tail County Sheriff’s office were notified yesterday of a possible drowning in rural Vergas. The woman who called had been outside with her 3 children when she noticed the 18-month-old boy was no longer at her side. She found him behind the remnants of an old barn, facedown, in about 4 ½ feet of water. The Otter Tail County Sheriff’s office, Vergas Rescue, Vergus Fire, Perham Ambulance and Lifelink III Medical transport responded. Life Saving efforts were provided and the child was conscious prior to being transported by Lifelink III for further medical treatment. Current Medical Status is unknown.
