
(MNN) – Road Construction Season is just around the corner and for those who travel Highway 34 you should see a smoother ride by the end of September. The MN Department of Transportation will begin the road construction project on Highway 34, from County Road 26/47 west of Osage to Western avenue in Park Rapids on May 13th. Key elements expected are full depth pavement reclamation, shoulder widening, culvert replacements, pedestrian ramps and shoulder improvements. Construction should end in September. Travelers can expect lane closures between county road 47 and 48 near Osage. This road will be closed to thru-traffic from county road 48 to Western avenue in Park Rapids. A detour will follow county road 48 and Highway 71. Daily lane closures for local traffic and restrictions at culvert sites.
