Teen Charged in St. Cloud Shooting

ST. PAUL, Minn. – A teenager has been charged in connection with a shooting that wounded two people in St. Cloud. The incident occurred around 2:30 a.m. on Sunday at Go For It Gas on 9th Avenue South and University Drive. Police found a 17-year-old with two gunshot wounds to the torso. He was initially taken to CentraCare-St. Cloud Hospital and later airlifted to a Twin Cities hospital in stable but critical condition. Another victim, a 31-year-old woman, arrived at the hospital with a gunshot wound to her leg. She was treated and released.

Surveillance video showed the suspect approaching the victim and throwing punches before firing two shots. The suspect then fled the scene. The 17-year-old suspect appeared in court on Monday and was charged with first-degree assault causing great bodily harm, second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon, and possession of ammunition/pistol/assault weapon while under 18. All charges are felonies.The victim’s condition has not been updated. KDLM News is not naming the suspect because he is under 18.
