Additional Farmers to Families Food Box Distribution in Detroit Lakes, Monday

DETROIT LAKES (KDLM) – An additional Farmers to Families Food Box distribution will take place in Detroit Lakes on Monday, April 18.

Organizers will use Soo Pass Ranch on the WE Fest grounds. The event begins at 5 p.m. Line up starts at 4pm on the Southbound shoulder of Co Hwy 22 with a right turn only into Soo Pass Ranch. Each family will receive 1 box of food.

In addition, there will also be a drawing for free WE Fest tickets at the event.

“This funding was from the previous administration and the funding has been cut to the USDA so we have minimal funding for May. If you’re in need or know someone in need, come and spread the love with us – we all need more love,” Misti Rose, one of the event organizers said.

The boxes are provided by the USDA Farmers to Families program and are being distributed by volunteers. More than 132 million Farmers to Families Food Boxes have been given away throughout the U.S. since May of 2020.
