
GRIGGS COUNTY, N.D. – Corey Schneider, a resident of Hannaford, is facing several charges following an incident on Monday in Griggs County. Court documents indicate that late Monday morning, Schneider allegedly assaulted his wife at their home in the presence of her two children. He then reportedly left the residence with a rifle. Authorities were able to track Schneider’s location using his phone and found him on Highway 65, 3 miles east of Binford. Upon confrontation, Schneider refused to comply with deputies’ commands to turn around or lie on the ground. He allegedly yelled at the sheriff to shoot him.
Despite continued refusal to comply, deputies eventually subdued Schneider with pepper spray and took him into custody. Schneider is currently held in the Barnes County Jail, facing three felony charges: Aggravated Assault – Bodily Injury Intent to Cause Serious Bodily Injury (Adult Victim), Preventing Arrest, and Child Abuse. His bond has been set at $5,000. Schneider turned 45 the day after his arrest. His next court appearance is scheduled for April 23.
