A man from Watford City, Brandon Rogness, is facing animal cruelty charges after two dogs were discovered dead inside a camper on Friday. The incident occurred at 5047 91st Ave. NE Crary, North Dakota. Rogness is charged with three counts of animal cruelty in Ramsey County. Deputies responded to a call reporting a dog locked inside the camper. Upon arrival, they found one dog alive inside the camper, along with the skeletal remains of another dog and a partially eaten dog, all on a floor covered in feces.
Rogness, the owner who resides in Watford City, was summoned to the camper. The surviving dog was removed from the scene. According to court documents, Rogness admitted to knowing about the dead dog in the camper and expressed concern for another dog’s health, believing it would not survive due to poor health. Rogness stated that he had checked on the dogs the previous weekend and had planned to check on them again. He also mentioned to deputies that he was unable to care for the dogs and was attempting to find them a new home. The remaining dog is reportedly in poor health.
