(St. Paul, MN) —Scott Forbes, a resident of Park Rapids, has been found liable for over $62,000 in income and sales taxes, penalties, and interest due to his failure to pay taxes.
The Minnesota Department of Revenue has levied one felony count and 23 misdemeanors against Forbes for failing to file and pay taxes. According to officials, Forbes neglected to file an income tax return between 2018 and 2022 and did not pay taxes from 2017 to 2022 for both himself and his business, Affordable Tree Service.
Forbes could potentially face up to 27 years in prison and a fine of $79,000.
