On a calm Tuesday morning, the Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office sprang into action, responding swiftly to a report of a vehicle rollover southeast of Perham. The incident unfolded on 470th Street, where a vehicle was navigating its way north toward Highway 10. Unfortunately, a misstep led the vehicle onto the soft shoulder, where it was ensnared by the ditch’s grasp. In a desperate bid to correct the course, the driver overcompensated, propelling the vehicle across the road and into the opposing ditch. The force of the impact sent the vehicle tumbling over and over, two or three times, before coming to a rest. Rescue became the top priority as the Perham Fire Department raced to extricate the driver from the wreckage. With careful precision and expertise, they managed to free the driver, who was then swiftly transported to Perham Health for treatment. Despite the harrowing ordeal, the driver sustained only non-life-threatening injuries, a testament to the rapid response and skillful efforts of the emergency responders.
