
STONEHAM TOWNSHIP, Minn. – A Pelican Rapids man has died after a crash in Stoneham Township in Chippewa County, Minnesota on Tuesday. The Minnesota Department of Public Safety says the crash happened shortly after 5 p.m. on Tuesday March 5 when a semi and a pickup truck collided at the intersection of Highway 7 and Chippewa County Road 4 just north of Maynard. The driver of the semi, 59-year-old Timmy James Tarnowski of Pelican Rapids, was traveling eastbound on highway 7 while 32-year-old Georgii Gabiev of Brooklyn, New York was headed northbound on County Road 4 at the time of collision. Tarnowski was killed in the crash. Officials say it is unknown whether he was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. Gabiev suffered non-life threatening injuries and was taken to a local hospital Alcohol was not a factor in this crash.
