DETROIT LAKES — The city of Detroit Lakes has hired Bridget Penton as its economic development director. Penton will continue working as the energy services specialist of Detroit Lakes about 40% of the time, with the other 60% going toward the economic development director position. Funding for the economic development director position will be split between the economic development funds and energy services. Penton has worked for the city for the past five years as the city’s energy services specialist.
