
The Detroit Lakes boys basketball team played against the Little Falls Flyers on Tuesday and won 63-48, continuing their impressive season with another victory. The Lakers’ current winning streak is now five games, and their overall record is 17-2. Mason Carrier and Brandton Marsh led the Lakers’ offense, scoring a total of 49 points between them.
During the first half, the Flyers kept the game close with five three-pointers. Jaxon Janski led Little Falls with 10 points in the first half, while Brayden Jordan made two three-pointers. Detroit Lakes had a balanced approach on offense in the first half, with six players on the scoresheet. The Lakers led 25-24 at halftime.
In the second half, the Lakers started strong, going on a 25-9 run in the first ten minutes. They gained momentum through solid defensive plays that turned into fast break points. Marsh benefited from two Laker steals, which led to two slam dunks that boosted his team’s energy. Carrier converted on two three-pointers during the run and finished with 14 rebounds.
The Lakers will face a tough test on Thursday when they travel to Crosby-Ironton. The Rangers have a record of 16-1, with their only loss coming against Pequot Lakes, 47-35. With this win, the Lakers’ record in Section 8AAA is now 5-1.
