Detroit Lakes , MN (KDLM)-
External demolition began Thursday morning, Feb. 1, on the former Herberger’s building on the northwest side of the Moorhead Center Mall as part of a large project to redevelop downtown Moorhead.
According to a statement released by the Roers development company, which is teaming with the city of Moorhead on the downtown renewal, internal demolition on the former Herberger’s store has been ongoing for a number of weeks.
Over the past several months, longstanding businesses have moved out of the mall ahead of demolition, including Thai Orchid, Vic’s Bar and Grill, FM Antiques and More, Comfort and Joy and Nails Pro.
Others, such as Puffe’s Fine Jewelry and K & Krafts, closed for good.
