Teen killed, several hurt after multi-vehicle crash in Hubbard County

Detroit Lakes , MN (KDLM)-

One teen is dead, and several others are hurt, after a multi-vehicle crash in Hubbard County Tuesday night.

It happened around 6:30 p.m. on CR 4 in Lake Emma Township.

Officials say a Park Rapids 16-year-old stopped to pick up mail. He tried to turn into his driveway and was struck by a pickup truck, driven by another 16-year-old from Nevis.

A 15-year-old passenger in the pickup was seriously hurt, and got out of the truck.

Officials say a third vehicle, another pickup driven by a 62-year-old Moorhead man, then came along and rear-ended the pickup and injured the 15-year-old even more.

The 15-year-old was taken to a Fargo hospital where he later died. All others involved in the crash were hurt.

The crash remains under investigation.
