Laker Wrestling team Quad-Rangular results from Friday night in Barrett

The Detroit Lakes Wrestling team was part of a Quad-Rangular Friday night in Barrett. West Central hosted the Lakers, along with Crookston and Alexandria. Detroit started the night taking on Alexandria and heading into the night, both Beau Somdahl and Brock Swierz were looking for milestone victories…Sophmore Somdahl was at 49 wins and Senior Swierz was at 48. Beau, at 145lb, got his 50^th win in his first matchup against Alexandria’s Jackson Waltzing, with a pin at 5:16. Brock, at 152lb, got his 50^th victory in the Lakers second match against West Central Area’s Sam Olson. DL lost to Alexandria 39-21 in their first match, then took another loss to West Central Area 42-25 and then finished off the night with a victory over Crookston 51-15. WCA goes 3-0, Alexandria 2-1, DL 1-2 and Crookston 0-3 on the night. One other milestone was WCA’s 160lb, Solomon Wales got his 150^th career victory against DL. Next matchup for DL on KRCQ 102.3FM is Tuesday 1/30 as the Lakers will host both Bemidji and DGF at 5pm.

Evacuation order remains in place as crews battle Flanders Fire in Crow Wing County
