Honoring her sister’s legacy: Wadena teen honored for cancer fundraiser
Anna Fiemeyer is one of the tri-state area’s Student Visionaries of the Year for the The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Upper Plains Region. Her sister died of leukemia in 2012.
— When 8-year-old Jane Fiemeyer was nearing the end of her cancer battle in 2012, she told her mom a few things: To help find a cure for childhood cancer, and to always remember her.
Now her legacy lives on thanks to family. Jane’s family and friends have stepped up to the plate — including her sister, Anna Fiemeyer, who is in the middle of a fundraising machine as she is honored as part of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Upper Plains Region’s Student Visionaries of the Year project
Anna is the only high school student in greater Minnesota taking part in the fundraiser.
So, over the next several weeks, Anna Fiemeyer and her team of two-dozen volunteers will host fundraisers and benefits to raise $50,000.
A mom and a sister making sure Jane Fiemeyer, is never forgotten.
