Detroit Lakes , MN (KDLM)- The Breckenridge Cowgirls hosted the Hawley Nuggets in a Girls Basketball game Tuesday night, in a Heart O’ Lakes Conference matchup. In a close battle, the Cowgirls held a 39-34 halftime lead, with Parker Yaggie getting 17 points to lead the way. In the second half, Breckenridge held control until about 3 minutes left, when the Nuggets tied it at 64, 66 and 68 in regulation, before Hawley tied it at 73 in the overtime period, before Parker Yaggie scored 11 of the 13 points in Overtime for the Cowgirls getting a 84-73 victory. Yaggie ended up with a NEW School Record for the Cowgirls with 38 points, breaking the old Record of 31.
Hawley’s starting 5 all scored in Double Digits, with Addi Sanvik leading the way with 19, including the baskets that tied it at 64, 66, 68 and 73. Sanvik was named the Muscatell Burns Ford MVP of the Game. Hawley falls to 7-5 and Breckenridge improved to 9-3.
