Foston, Minn. (KRCQ) – The Detroit Lakes Lakers Wrestling team traveled to Fosston on Tuesday night, for a Tri-Angular with Thief River Falls and Foston/Bagley.
The Lakers met up with the Prowlers to open the matches and TRF won 6 of the first 7 matches to open a 34-3 lead.
Talan Baker got the only win with a 7-4 decision at the new weight class of 127.
The MSHSL has taken away 1 weight class starting this year for a total now of 13.
Beau Somdahl got the second win for the Lakers at 152 with a pin at 5:41 and at HWT Will Martin picked up the last win with a pinfall at just :34.
Then the Lakers met the host Fosston/Bagley Brawlers. Gage Weber got the win to open the dual at 107, with a 5-0 victory, but the Lakers fell behind 34-3 after 145.
At 152, Beau Somdahl got his second victory of the night, with a 17-4 win. Cody Bartness got a forfeit win at 160, Brock Bouchie got a nice pinfall victory at 3:00 and then HWT Martin finished the night for the Lakers off with a pinfall at 2:18 to finish off a 40-31 win for Fosston/Bagley.
The Lakers will host a Tri-Angular on Tuesday, Dec. 19 with Barnesville and Moorhead on KRCQ Real Country 102.3.
