Boys Basketball: Nuggets falls to Vikings 86-74; will host Frazee on Dec. 14

Pelican Rapids, Minn. (KRCQ) – The Hawley Nuggets went on the road for their second game of the Season on Friday, Dec. 8 in Pelican Rapids, for a Heart O’ Lakes Conference matchup with the Vikings.

The Vikings opened on a 7-0 run and even though the Nuggets came back and was within 1 point, many times in the second half, the Vikings were able to hit the shots they needed to hold on to the lead though out the game.

The Vikings had 4-starters in double digits, as Timmy Guler lead the way with 22, Miguel Torrez had 17, Charlie Larson hit for 15 and Jack Welch had 13.

Brevin Stoa of the Nuggets was the game high scorer with 25 and was the Muscatell Burns Ford MVP of the game.  The Nuggets also had Noah Nelson and Landon Bakke with 12 points a piece.

In the end Pelican Rapids pulled away with about 5-6 minutes left and finished off a 86-74 victory to improve to 4-0 on the season.

Hawley fell to 0-2.

The Boys are back on KRCQ, Thursday night (12/14) hosting Frazee and the Girls are back on KRCQ on Saturday (12/16) at Fergus Falls.
