St. Cloud, Minn. (KNSI) – Fire crews battled a blaze at a St. Cloud residence on Tuesday, which ended up displacing two residents.
No injuries were reported at the scene, but two dogs and one cat perished in the fire.
The fire department says they were called to the scene around 1:45 p.m. for a potential fire inside a single family home on the 300 block of 32nd Avenue North.
Crews arrived to find heavy smoke coming from the eaves and windows of the house.
The back door had been forced open, and officials said a neighbor ran in to save one of the dogs.
Firefighters searched the house, but no one was home.
The fire damage was contained to the kitchen and attic area, but there was smoke damage throughout.
The two people who live at the residence are being assisted by the American Red Cross.
The cause of the fire remains under an active investigation.
