St. Cloud, Minn. (KNSI) – The suspect accused of shooting five police officers Thursday morning in Glendorado Township is now in custody.

Three of the officers were rushed to North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale, Minn., and two were taken to CentraCare St. Cloud Hospital for treatment.

The conditions of the officers and which departments they work for were not released. The injuries are described as non-life-threatening.

Benton County Sheriff Troy Heck described it as a “critical incident,” but declined to give further details. Only to go so far as saying law enforcement is working to determine what led up to the shooting.

A perimeter of about one mile was set up around the home.

He says there is no active threat to the public, but is still asking the public to stay away from the area.

Glendorado Township is roughly 12 miles west of Princeton.
