Fog sealing to begin Wednesday for Detroit Lakes parking areas near downtown

Detroit Lakes, MN (KDLM) – Detroit Lakes will be fog sealing parking areas along Veteran’s Memorial Parkway beginning Wednesday morning.

Beginning on Wednesday, Sept. 13 at 6 a.m., parking areas will be closed at Lakes Liquor, the EV charging area and the area around the Jimmy John’s drive-thru.

The alleyway behind Roasted and Price’s Jewelry will also be closed during this time.

The following day, Thursday, Sept. 14, the rest of the parking lot east of Washinton Avenue will be fog sealed, including parking spaces in front of Jimmy John’s and Masterpiece Alternatives.

On Friday at 6 a.m., parking areas along Veteran’s Memorial Parkways will be closed for fog sealing, along with the remaining parking areas in the downtown parking lot east of Washington Avenue.

Detroit Lakes Public Works encourages drivers to move their vehicles during the parking closures to prevent damage to their vehicles from the fog sealing process. Adding, the city will not be responsible for damaged or towed vehicles during the closures.

Striping of the newly fog sealed parking areas will commence on Monday, September 18.
