Five Junior Golfers To Golf 100 Holes To Benefit Growth of the Game Foundation

Detroit Lakes, MN (KDLM) – For the second year in a row, a couple of youth golfers will be golfing 100 holes of golf at Lakeview Golf Course to raise money for the Growth of the Game Foundation, which supports junior golf in Detroit Lakes.

Last year, Parker Christianson, Breck Gatheridge, and Sully Braaten completed the 100-hole challenge in just over 12 hours and will be back again this year. They’ll also be joined by Tatum Gatheridge, Sophie Christianson, and DCC pro Kalynn Dolby.

In addition to playing 100 holes, the golfers will be walking and carrying/pushing their clubs. Last year, the boys walked about 22.5 miles in total.

“My feet were really starting to hurt towards the middle,” said Breck Gatheridge told KDLM last year. “I could barely feel them by the end. It wasn’t fun to walk.”

The Growth of the Game Foundation is a non-profit organization created for underprivileged youth; to improve player development and provide accessibility to the game.

The golfers have a goal to raise $6,000 for GOTG this year. You can find information on the golfers’ quest for 100 holes and donate on the Growth of the Game’s Facebook page.
