Detroit Lakes, Minn. (KDLM) – The Lakes Area Farmers Market opens May 20 at Peoples Park in Detroit Lakes.
Annie Schow, an organizer and vendor at the market, said market attendees will have a wide selection of vendors to choose from, including: vegetables sellers, bread makers, dessert artisans and other vendors selling collectable crafts for a cabin or homestead.
“The spot we have right now at People’s Park will hold about 24 vendors and right now we have about 22 active vendors,” said Schow.
She also said the market will include beverages this year, but is also looking for additional vendors to add to their growing list.
“This year we have a new vendor, which is drinks, it’s lemonade, so that will be another addition to the market,” she said. “Right now, we are currently looking for more vegetable vendors and also a gluten-free vendor. So, if anyone specializes in gluten-free, any product, we are looking for that.”

The market will be open the last two Saturdays in May and then begin selling two days per week, Tuesdays and Saturdays, beginning June 6.
