Rep. Fischbach announces 2023 congressional art competition winners; Perham student receives honorable mention

Detroit Lakes, Minn. (KDLM) – Minnesota Congresswoman Michelle Fischbach announced the winners of her district’s 2023 Congressional Art Competition, which included an honorable mention for Perham High School student Lola Strong.

Strong received the recognition for her submitted work titled, Fated Clovers, a colorful piece of couples dancing at a dance hall. The picture will be displayed at Fischbach’s congressional office in Willmar.

According to the contest news release, more than 40 pieces of art were submitted for this year’s contest.

Of the contest, Rep. Fischbach said: “Thank you to everyone who participated in the competition. We received so many wonderful submissions. It is obvious that we have some very talented artists across Minnesota’s 7th District and I look forward to see where your talents take all of you”
