Detroit Lakes, Minn. (KDLM) – West Central Initiative received about $3.4 million from the Minnesota Department of Employment & Economic Development’s Main Street Economic Revitalization Program.
In a news release from the nonprofit, the group said they plan to spend those funds for the redevelopment of commercial space in three corridors in west central Minnesota, which include cities along Highway 10 from Moorhead to Bluffton.
Greg Wagner, West Central Initiative’s Director of Business & Economic Development, said: “Several of the communities are already developing plans to better serve consumers, create expanded employment opportunities, and build tax revenues. We expect these business-focused matching grants will help to make those plans a reality.”
The initial application deadline for cities along Highway 10 is June 26. And more information about the application process can be found on the West Central Initiative website.
