Detroit Lakes, Minn. (KDLM) – A custodian at an Alexandria community health clinic was charged with a gross misdemeanor after making video recordings of others, without their consent, in an employee locker room.

On May 7, Alexandria police were called to Alomere Health after receiving a report of a person recording staff members while they changed.

34-year-old Corey Ray Johns of Alexandria allegedly leaned a phone against a shoe and recorded video of multiple staff members changing in and out of their hospital clothes before one woman noticed the phone was actively recording her.

According to court records, Johns reportedly approached the two woman who had seized his phone and tried to get it back before law enforcement arrived to the scene.

Johns also admitted to law enforcement that the phone was his and told officers, “I guess I don’t know how to put it, I’m just a sad human being.”

The case remains under an active investigation and Johns was arraigned in Douglas County District Court on May 8.
