Becker County Sheriff’s Office receives grant for ‘snowbulance’ from TEAM Foundation

Detroit Lakes, Minn. (KDLM) – The Becker County Sheriff’s Office will be getting a new medical transport trailer attachment for their snowmobile unit thanks to a more than $11,000 donation from the TEAM Industries, TEAM Foundation.

Becker County Sheriff Todd Glander accepted the donation at the county board meeting on May 2 and explained why the snowmobile unit needed the new sled attachment.

“That particular unit has been around since, I guess we don’t know the exact time, but it’s quite old, rusty, not as soft as it used to be,” Glander said. “When we haul people out they get sprayed with snow and mug, and such.”

The new trailer is called the Snowbulance Deluxe and is manufactured by Equinox Industries. The unit features interior and exterior lighting, a gas shock suspension system, and heater.

Glander added that he expects the transport trailer will be in service by next winter.
