Detroit Lakes, MN (KDLM) – The Detroit Lakes Youth Baseball Association is looking for volunteers to help clear snow from the high school ballfields.
Volunteers and the warmer weather have already cleared about 90% of the field, but there are still large piles of snow that need to be dealt with before the team hosts Crosby-Ironton for a double-header next Tuesday, April 18th.
The playing surfaces have been cleared, and the team has been practicing outside this week, but shovels and walk-behind snowblowers are still needed to clear the snow out of foul territory and other out-of-play areas.
If you are willing to help out, players and coaches will be at the field at 5:30 pm on Wednesday, April 12th to work on clearing the snow. If you can’t make that time, you’re encouraged to stop down any time and spread the remaining snow or toss it over the fence.
