Astera Health in Wadena Officially Opens On Friday, March 24

WADENA, MN (KDLM) – Astera Health, formerly known as Tri-County Health Care, is officially open in its new facility today (Friday). After nine long years and various setbacks, the facility moved its ReadyCare unit to the new facility on Wednesday night, and its emergency services began operating out of the new campus yesterday.

The new state-of-the-art facility is roughly the same size as its old hospital. But while the previous building was designed 50 years ago for primarily inpatient care, the new health care center was built specifically to accommodate outpatient services.

“Patient needs and demands have changed over the past 50 years,” says Astera Health President and CEO Joel Beiswenger. “The Tri-County Facility is landlocked, so the ability to grow and transform our services was very limited.”

Astera Health says the services provided at the new hospital will be the same as Tri-County Health, but the difference now will be the experience, which will include more space in patient rooms and an updated cafeteria.

The new facility is located right off Highway Ten, west of Wadena.
