Detroit Lakes man arrested for his role in high speed chase in Moorhead

MOORHEAD, MN (KFGO/KDLM) – Two men were arrested following a high-speed chase early Tuesday in Moorhead.

Police attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation in the 1800 block of 12th Ave. S shortly before 12:30 a.m. The vehicle fled and officers pursued but police terminated the chase because of the suspect’s speed.

Another officer later spotted the vehicle near Village Green Boulevard and 20th St. S. Police used a stop stick and were able to deflate three of the vehicle’s tires. The vehicle was found and two people were seen running from it.

The passenger, 44-year-old Shawn Mosca, of Detroit Lakes, was tracked down and arrested for fleeing on foot and on outstanding warrants.

Police set up a perimeter and a short time later 28-year-old Jovan Gagnon, of Mahnomen, was found hiding under a parked vehicle in a parking lot. Gagnon was arrested for fleeing police in a motor vehicle and fleeing on foot.

Both are being held in the Clay County Jail.
