Hawley Boys Basketball Ends Season At 17 – 10

Detroit Lakes , MN (KDLM)-

The Section 8AA Semi-finals were held at the Detroit Lakes High School on Wednesday night, as the

Hawley Nuggets played the #1 Seed Thief River Falls Prowlers.  In a back and forth matchup, each team

traded leads throughout the first half, but in the end the prowlers held a 32-27 lead.  The second half was

much the same, as each team had their opportunities.  The last tie of the game was at 53. After the

Prowlers took the lead with :14 left, the Hawley Nuggets had one final chance with 1.7sec left on an inbound

pass in the front court, but the pass was picked off by TRF and they were able to hold on for a 66-65 victory,

ending the Hawley Nuggets season. Hawley’s Senior Sam Senske lead the game with 36 points and TRF’s

Jack Rosendahl had 26.  Hawley end the season at 17-10.  Congratulations to the Hawley Senior class of Sam Senske,

Mason Gratton, Derek Tibbetts and Ben Geeslin in playing their last basketball game for Hawley.
