Six Year Old Boy Dies After Falling Through The Ice

A 6 year old boy is dead after falling through the ice over the weekend. According to the Aitkin county sheriff’s department, it happened on Sunday afternoon just after 1:30 next to a dock on a small lake in an area that’s normally used as an ice skating rink, however it was covered with snow at the time. Owen Thomas Benjamin was not breathing when he was removed from the waist deep water by a family member. CPR was started and multiple lifesaving efforts continued on for a couple of hours, but the boy was pronounced dead in the emergency room.
