Detroit Lakes, MN (KDLM) – Josh Omang has been hired to replace Darren Wolf as DLHS principal, beginning July 1st, 2021.
Wolf has served as principal at DLHS since 2014 and announced that he would be leaving the position last month.
According to a release from Detroit Lakes Public Schools, 24 applicants for the position were narrowed down to four finalists last week, with Omang ultimately being offered the position.
Omang has been in the District for the last six years serving as the high school’s Academy Coordinator and also as the head football coach. Omang graduated from DLHS in 1999, then continued his education earning a Bachelor’s Degree at Gustavus Adolphus College, Master’s Degree at St. Mary’s University, Education Specialist credential at the University of St. Thomas, and most recently, continued his education at MSUM-Moorhead earning his Superintendent’s License.
