FRAZEE, MN (KDLM) – Frazee senior Hope Hamm was named the MSHSL Most Valuable Teammate for the week of January 9th, 2023.
The Minnesota State High School League recognizes students that demonstrate the characteristics of a Valuable Teammate, including being a positive influence on their team, exemplifying leadership and sportsmanship, and being respectful, reliable, and supportive of others.
Hamm was recently named the Section 8A Swimmer of the Year and represented Detroit Lakes/Frazee at the State Swim and Dive in the 200-free, 500-free, and was a part of the 400-yard free relay.
“Faith is a huge supporter for all those around her,” her nomination form said. “She’s always positive and constantly builds up her teammates. She is a huge cheerleader for the younger girls in our programs and constantly takes them under her wing. She is the first to raise her hand to do anything for anyone, including many community organizations. She is all about what is best for the team and not herself.”
Activities Directors, parents, fans, and teammates can nominate a student for the MSHSL Most Valuable Teammate award by emailing John Millea at jmillea@mshsl.org and should include the student’s name, grade, school, and the activity in which the student participates. You must also submit a school or graduation photo of the student along with a brief explanation (three or four sentences) of why the student deserves the MVT Award.
