Detroit Lakes, MN (KDLM) – The first of four mini-concerts at First Lutheran Church in Detroit Lakes will be at noon this Wednesday, November 30th.

“We are so excited to be able to host these performances,” says Holly Heisserer. “We’ve been doing these Advent Mini-Concerts for at least 25 years now.”

Tim Eggebraaten will be the first performer in this year’s lineup. The Singing Police Chief will perform from 12:05-12:35 this Wednesday. The following Wednesday will feature saxophonist Rich Johnson, vocalist Emma Duncan, and accompaniment by Karen Bimberg. December 14th will see a shared performance by First Lutheran’s Alleluia Ringers bell choir and flutist Peggy Hammerling.

“Members of the Alleluia Ringers will perform the first half, and will be followed by Peggy,” said Heisserer. “Peggy has performed in a number of Fargo-area orchestras and symphonies. She recently became a member of the church and played at an event this summer. She is absolutely fabulous to listen to and we are very much looking forward to hearing her perform.”

The final mini-concert, held on December 21st, will feature the Heart O’ Lakes Barbershop Chorus and Flutes and Keys by Dotz Johnson, Carol Turner, & Connie Wood.

Concerts are free and open to the public. A soup & sandwich lunch with free will offering will be available following each show. Performances can also be watched via the live stream on the First Lutheran Church website.
