Minnesota GOP Senate Candidate Dan Bohmer says Recent Media Reports Untrue

DETROIT LAKES (KDLM) – Dan Bohmer, candidate for Minnesota Senate District 4 is calling out what he calls “slanderous reporting” by local media.

Bohmer says that recent reports that law enforcement was involved in an interaction between Bohmer and his ex-wife last Wednesday are untrue, “the call to law enforcement was for an issue between my son and his mother that I was not involved in…Divorce is hard on everyone in the family, especially kids.”

Wednesday’s altercation came just weeks after attack ads began running on area radio and tv by the DFL Senate Caucus using court documents from Bohmer’s divorce from his wife, Kate, in October 2021.

Bohmer says he is requesting everyone leave his family out of the political discourse.

Bohmer and his challenger Rob Kupec are running for State Senate District 4 which covers portions of Becker including the city of Detroit Lakes, Clay, and Norman counties in the northwestern part of the state. It is currently represented by DFLer Kent Eken who is not running for reelection.
