STAPLES (KDLM) – Police are asking the public for information after a person was shot while driving near Staples, Sunday.
Just after 7 p.m., deputies responded to a report of an assault with firearm that occurred on County Road 21 just south of County Road 24, south of Staples. The victim was driving southbound on County 21 when he was struck by bullet from a firearm that was discharged from a passing vehicle.
The suspect vehicle continued north on County Road 21 and possibly turned west onto State Hwy 210. The victim was unable to provide any details of the suspect vehicle due to it being dark out.
The victim was treated and released from the Lakewood Hospital for injuries sustained in the incident.
The incident remains under investigation.
