DETROIT LAKES (KDLM) – The Becker County Sheriff’s Office is reminding residents to be aware of phone scams after receiving several reports recently.
The Sheriff’s Office says, they have received several calls regarding unemployment insurance fraud and identity theft.
Fraudulent unemployment claims have been sweeping the nation in recent months. It’s estimated that fraud has cost unemployment insurance programs across the country at least $63 billion this year.
