Tuesday Volleyball Roundup: Lakers improve to 11-1; LPA mounts 0-2 comeback for first win

(KDLM) – VOLLEYBALL NOTES FROM TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 27

Detroit Lakes improved to 11-1 with a three-set sweep (25-17, 25-20, 25-14) over East Grand Forks. The Lakers will have a tough test on Thursday night, traveling to face MidState opponent and the number-two team in Class AA Pequot Lakes Patriots.

Lake Park-Audubon roared back from an 0-2 deficit to beat Mahnomen/Waubun for their first win of the season and the first LPA win for head coach Adi Vancura. LPA dropped the first two sets 25-22 and 25-14 before taking sets three and four 25-23 and 25-21, then edging out the Thunderbirds 18-16 in the final set. LPA will host Ada-Borup-West on Thursday.

Hawley extended their winning streak to three with a 3-0 (25-8, 25-20, 25-6) win over Crookston. Hawley improves to 9-7 and has won six of their last seven matches. They’ll travel to East Grand Forks on Thursday.

Perham snapped a six-game losing streak with a 3-0 sweep (25-19, 25-17, 25-19) of Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton. The Yellowjackets will travel to Pelican Rapids on Thursday.
